Brent Jex - The Attorney
Brent Jex is a San Diego native and attorney with Keegan & Baker, LLP who aggressively litigates on behalf of his clients throughout San Diego County. Mr. Jex focuses his practice on general and complex employment and consumer litigation including all manners of employment and labor litigation, personal injury and wrongful death cases, and actions for damages under the state and federal unfair debt collection laws. He is always interested in pursuing cases on a class action or other representative basis on behalf of all aggrieved persons and the general public. He has litigated several representative actions involving large corporations and governmental organizations.
During his career as a litigator, Mr. Jex has successfully resolved numerous consumer cases, both on the individual and class action level. He has tried cases in federal and state courts involving predatory mortgage lending, title insurance claims, partnership disputes, unfair debt collection practices, and wage-and-hour claims. Mr. Jex recently participated in a three-week jury trial on behalf of his employer-client that resulted in a full defense verdict on all legal and equitable claims.
Mr. Jex is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, Federal Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in California. Mr. Jex received his B.S. cum laude from the University of Arizona in 2000. He received his J.D. in 2004 from the UCLA School of Law, where he served as Comments Editor on the UCLA Law Review.
Mr. Jex enjoys being involved in the community. He currently resides in North Park – San Diego's urban village
